Fellow Tensasans,

It is with great sadness that I must inform you that the 2020 Reunion has been cancelled because of the pandemic.  We know this is a great disappointment because we were looking forward to our annual fellowship with families and friends.

My heart and my prayers go out to all of the Tensasans that have lost loved ones due to the Coronavirus and other causes.  As we move forward through these difficult times, I would encourage you to stay prayed up and keep the faith.

As you are aware, our 501(c)(3) non-profit status is predicated on our scholarship program.  Over the last several years Tensas Reunion Incorporated (TRI) has awarded a total of five thousand dollars each year to college-bound students.  Since tuition is continually increasing, our goal is to exceed the five thousand dollars per year in the very near future.

With that said, I would like to make an appeal to each of you that had planned on attending the reunion in the beautiful city of Arlington, Texas.  My appeal is that you would donate a portion… or all…of the registration fee that you would have paid for the reunion to the TRI  Scholarship Fund.  I would also like to encourage all Tensasans to contribute to the scholarship fund!  A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Please forward all donation(s) to Albert Rowe, 10631 N. Park Ave., Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70911

As I thank you in advance, let me also encourage you to continue to be excited and enthusiastic about attending the 2021 Reunion, which will be held in Baton Rouge.

Respectfully,

Dr. Charlie B. Washington
President, Board of Directors
Tensas Reunion Incorporated
